LLOYD E. ANDERSON

Lloyd Anderson was bern on February 8, 1925 in Tippecanoe Township of Carroll County. Lloyd’s parents, Floyd and Myrl Anderson had 5 boys. Lloyd was the 3rd generation to farm in Carroll County and he presently lives on a farm owned by his paternal grandparents.

Lloyd graduated from Pittsburg grade school and Delphi High School in 1943. Following graduation, Lloyd and his twin brother, Lynn, were drafted into the U S Navy. Following his discharge from the Navy, Lloyd worked at Ross Gear for 9 years before coming home to farm until his retirement in 1988.

Lloyd married Ruth Croussore in 1946 and they have 2 children; Lynn of Des Moines, Iowa; and Pam Vansickle of Delphi. They are the proud grandparents of 6 grandchildren. Lloyd has devoted a great deal of time to community service and he continues to do that today. He was a scout master for 3 years, and coached girls softball for 2 years.

He has been a member of the American Legion of Delphi for over 40 years and is a member of the Presbyterian Church which he is presently serving on their Board of Deacons. Lloyd has been active .in many community and political arenas as he served on the Tippecanoe Township Advisory Board for 4 years, the Delphi Community School Board for 8 years, and as a Carroll county Commissioner for 4 years. In addition he has served on the Board of Trustees for the Carroll County Council on Aging and the Carroll County FEMA Board. He has served of the liaison board of the Saint Elizabeth Health Care Center and has been very active in the operation of the Food Pantry.

Lloyd has always been the type of person that was willing to go that extra mile to help his fellow man.
