1994 John Trapp
HERSHEL “JOHN” TRAPP
Hershel E. Trapp was born in 1929 to Harold and Ovena Trapp, and given the nickname “John”. He was raised with one brother and two sisters on the same farm where he now resides.
John graduated from Camden High School and then served two years in the Armed Services.
He married his wife, Mary Eikelburner, on April 11, 1953 and started farming with his father and brother. John and Mary have four children; three daughters, Debbie, Cathy, and Lori and one son, Larry.
Larry came into the farming operation in 1975. Their present operation consists of grain farming plus a farrow to finish swine operation.
John has always been very involved with community activities and always felt that he needed to return to the community some of the things that he was able to gain from it. His first form of leadership came as a Cub Scout Leader for Camden. He has spent many hours serving on committees and board with the Jackson Township Farm Bureau Association, Carroll County Farm Bureau Co-op, Delphi Community School Board, Farmers Home Administration Board, and as Chairman of the Trustees of the Camden Methodist Church.
John realizes that the people of Carroll County are fortunate to have so many resources close to their operations and he is thankful to the people of Carroll county for making him a better citizen.
