CCAA – Letter to IN Lawmakers about Property Tax Cap

At the January 17 CCAA Member Meeting, we discussed the concerns and problems with the proposed Indiana Constitutional Amendment regarding a cap on property taxes.  The members expressed concern that this proposed cap would be very unfair to farmers and business people who own both real property and personal property (because the tax will also apply to your personal property taxes).  The Members asked that a letter be sent to our Indiana legislators stating our position on the matter.

At the Committee meetings on Tuesday, February 17, the letter will be available for members to sign.

Here’s the letter for your review;  ccaa-property-tax-lt-02-17-09

CCAA Urges County Support of IPC and Economic Development

The Carroll County Ag Association Board of Directors has submitted a letter to the Carroll County Commissioners and Carroll County Council urging support of a new IPC development project.  This project will bring jobs to Carroll County and give a “good neighbor” agribusiness industry the opportunity to develop product lines right here in Carroll County instead of elsewhere.

If you would like to help show support of a major employer in the County and a good friend to agribusiness, please attend the next Commissioner’s meeting on August 4 at 9:15 a.m., and the next Council Meeting on  August 21
