2008 Dodge Charger purchased with help from CCAA in 2012
In 2012, the Carroll County Agriculture Association raised (and matched) funds to purchase a car for the Carroll County Reserve Deputies. Reserve Deputies are all-volunteer deputies who assist the Carroll County Sheriff department in local law enforcement. In 2008, CCAA and its members raised donated $12,250.
The Reserve Deputy program is seeking a replacement vehicle for the 2008 car purchased with that project. As supporters of our local law enforcement officers, CCAA is again raising (and matching) funds for a car.
CCAA will match all donations made through CCAA in support of this project, up to $5,000.
Please download and review the attached letter for more information.

The nomination period for local FSA county committees begins on June 15th, 2016. Nomination forms must be postmarked or received in the Carroll County FSA office by close of business August 1st, 2016.
To be eligible to serve on the FSA county committee, a person must participate or cooperate in an agency administered program, be eligible to vote in a county committee election and reside in the Local Administrative Area (LAA) where they are nominated.
This year, nominations and elections will be held in LAA 2, which includes Clay, Jackson, Liberty, Madison, and Monroe townships.
Producers may nominate themselves or others as candidates. Organizations representing minority and women farmers and ranchers may also nominate candidates. To become a nominee, eligible individuals must sign form FSA-669A. The form and more information about county committee elections is available online at: www.fsa.usda.gov/elections.
Elected county committee members serve a three-year term and are responsible for making decisions on FSA disaster, conservation, commodity and price support programs, as well as other important federal farm program issues.
FSA will mail election ballots to eligible voters beginning November 7th. Ballots are due back in the CarrollCounty Office by mail or in person no later than December 5th, 2016. All newly elected county committee members and alternates will take office January 1st, 2017.
If you live in Clay, Jackson, Liberty, Madison or Monroe township, please consider serving as a member of the County Committee. We know there are a lot of great producers in our county that would do an excellent job representing Carroll County.

The feasibility study is required by The Agricultural Act of 2014, otherwise known as the farm bill.

Have you come to see us yet about your bases and yields? We are down to about 2 weeks until the deadline to update your farm records! (We are closed on Monday, February 16th for Presidents Day.)
The deadline is February 27th to update your yields and to take a look at your two choices for base acres. Your landowners will need to sign these updates (or you can sign if you have Power of Attorney) and get their forms back to our office by the February 27th deadline. There is no talk of extending the deadline so if you plan to update your farm records, call us as soon as possible!
If you missed the Member Meeting on January 24, you can view part of the program presented by Extension Educator Tamara Ogle here:
