Dr. John A Bush graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State in 1954. He established his veterinary practice in Flora, Indiana in June of 1954. He married Virginia Naylor that same month. In January of 1956, he purchased the property east of Flora on State Road 18 where the practice is currently located. The property included a house and a garage and with the help of his father and cousin, both from Lafayette, they remodeled the 2-car garage that stills stands today. That remodeled garage has grown and been remodeled many times over the last 64 years and stands today as Bush Veterinary Services.

In 1993, small animal services were expanded with the addition of a surgical suite, treatment area, in-house laboratory, and radiology. In 2005 a food animal haul-in facility was built just north of the main office building. It features drive through loading and unloading for livestock trailers, a hydraulic tip chute for lameness issues, and surgical procedures and a stationary chute with working tub and alley way. The goal of this addition was to better serve our producer’s medical needs.

Dr. Randy Bush graduated from Purdue University in 1985 and joined Dr. John in practice in 1990. After graduation he practiced in Carthage, IL and spent 2 years with a large livestock management company in Illinois and Oregon. Dr. Randy purchased the practice in 1993 and Dr. John remained a vital part of the practice until his death in 1999. Dr. Amy Lanum, a 2000 Purdue Graduate, joined the practice in 2003. Dr. Amy practiced in South Dakota for 3 years before returning to her home state of Indiana. Dr. Jen Fife, a 2010 Purdue Graduate, joined the practice after graduation. To round out the professional staff we also are fortunate to have 3 registered technicians that work side by side with the veterinarians.

Serving the veterinary needs of the agricultural community and surrounding area has always been the primary focus. We have been richly blessed to serve many farms, families and friends.
