Indiana Horticulture and Small Farm Conference, March 3-5, 2026

In 2026, the Indiana Horticulture Conference and the Indiana Small Farm Conference will merge into a single event: The Indiana Horticulture and Small Farms Conference (IHSFC), scheduled for March 3–5. These long-standing conferences, historically coordinated through the Horticulture and Landscape Architecture Department and the Diversified Farming and Food Systems group, will continue to offer high-quality networking and educational opportunities, now strengthened through a unified effort.

The IHSFC will take place at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds and Conference Center, providing producers with opportunities to learn, connect, enjoy local food, and engage with a wide range of agricultural organizations and commercial vendors through the expanded trade expo.

Program Overview

  • Day 1 (Tuesday 3/3): Sessions will cover business practices, resilient agriculture, food safety, fruit, labor, flowers, and vegetables as well as a Cider Contest. PARP credits will be available.
  • Day 2 (Wednesday 3/4): Topics include livestock, urban agriculture, flower production, business practices, food safety, fruit and highlight niche opportunities. Keynote presentation by Marty Travis.
  • Day 3 (Thursday 3/5): Sessions will focus on business practices, flowers, vegetables, livestock, urban agriculture and more. A networking luncheon will be facilitated.

The trade expo will run all three days, with additional networking opportunities on Tuesday and Wednesday late afternoon/evening including a poster session to highlight research efforts and on-farm innovation.
