Christmas Box Project Donations
November 15, 2024
Dear Carroll County Agricultural Supporter,
We hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits as we get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year we continue to encounter challenges in the economy here and around the world, our weather, the rapidly changing farm sector, and life in general.
One thing we know for sure, there is always someone in need.
Our reason for sending you this letter is to ask for your help and assistance as we look to those in our community who are less fortunate than ourselves. As is our tradition, the Carroll County Ag Association will be supplying food for people in need as well as support to the organizations who reach out to provide support this time of year. We will be supplying ground pork to the Flora Christmas Basket Project, the Homemakers Club, and various community churches that put together baskets for people in need.
This year, because of generous donations of hogs throughout the year, we are not accepting donations of hogs at this time. Instead, you are welcome to donate and deliver a hog to Burlington Locker Plant next year (2025) so that it can be processed as they have time and capacity. Please ask for any donations of hogs to be put “on account” for the Carroll County Agriculture Association. This meat will be used for CCAA activities and Food Pantry donations.
We are requesting a donation of money to help with this project. We will put the funds toward processing costs for meat donations, and for direct donations to support the County Christmas Relief Project and our community Food Pantries.
If you would be willing to donate money to assist with this project, please make out your check to the Carroll County Ag Association and send it to C.C.A.A., P.O. Box 62, Flora, IN 46929. Please send your donation by December 10.
Again, I wish you and yours a joyous holiday season, and thank you for your consideration of this service project.
With warm wishes, Shawn Meek, President, CCAA
