Purdue webinar to provide latest water quality information

In the past few years, livestock producers have become increasingly more concerned with water quality issues. Poor water quality can lead to increased incidence of disease and reduced animal performance. To help producers, veterinarians and students stay informed about the latest water quality developments, Purdue’s animal science department will host a free webinar October 27th on water quality and swine production.

Speakers are:
* Brian Richert, associate professor of animal sciences. “What are the water quality issues for swine?”
* Ernest Blatchley III, associate professor of Professor, School of Civil Engineering and Division of Environmental & Ecological Engineering. “Water Treatment for Hog Production Operations”
* Tom Gillespie, Swine Veterinarian, Rensselaer Veterinary Services
“ Veterinary Case Reports”

The webinar begins at 5;00 p.m Eastern time. To access the live program, go to http://www.ansc.tv  or http://www.ansc.purdue.edu/SP/WQW/

Local and regional pork producers, students, swine veterinarians and faculty are invited to the live presentation at 5:00 PM in Lilly Hall 3-118.
