Beef Management Seminar – January 19

All are invited to a Beef Management Seminar: Cattle Handling Practices & Facilities.

  • Where:  Lawrence County Fairgrounds – Bedford, IN
  • Seminar materials, meals and snacks provided

Beef producers have the opportunity to learn about cattle handing facilities and implementing on-farm management practices from some of the nation’s top researchers in the field of animal behavior. Speakers during this seminar will cover a wide variety of topics ranging from beef cattle psychology, updated information on cattle handling facilities and how to conduct beef cattle temperament scoring.

Speakers will also be discussing livestock issues currently in the media and the role beef producers can participate in to help explain livestock production through our state and nation.

  • Dr. Temple Grandin – Associate Professor in Livestock Behavior, Colorado State University
  • Dr. Ron Lemenager – Professor of Nutrition & Beef Management, Purdue University
  • Bret Marsh, DVM – Indiana State Veterinarian, IBOAH
  • Brad Shelton – Farm Superintendent, Feldun Purdue Agriculture Farm


Registration will begin on Saturday, January 19th at 8 a.m. and the seminar will go from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Early-bird registration before January 8th will be $40 per person. After January 8th the cost will be $50 per person. Veterinarians can receive continuing education credit for no extra cost!
