Carroll County – BURN BAN Effective June 14

Effective June 14, 2012, by order of the Carroll County Sheriff, Carroll County is under a BURN BAN until further notice.  Open fires of any kind are prohibited.

Unauthorized fires can result in fines and even criminal charges.  Call your local volunteer fire department if you have questions.   This post will be updated periodically with new information as it becomes available.

The burn ban DOES allow for controlled burns, if supervised by the local fire authority, so those cases are up to the willingness of the local fire chief to supervise a burn. (Paragraph 4 of the burn ban.)

Update – August 10, 2012 –Commissioner Pat Clawson has lifted the burn ban in Carroll Co.  Burning trash has been and is still illegal to burn
