High Tunnel Construction Workshop – July 30-31

Attached you will find a news release regarding a High Tunnel Construction Workshop being offered to the general public on July 30-31 at Saint Joe  College in Rensselaer, Indiana. Saint Joe College received a grant from the  Ball Venture Fund to build a high tunnel (hoophouse or unheated greenhouse)  for year-round vegetable production and the development of courses related  to organic food production and the development of business plans using  seasonal high tunnels.  The food grown will be made available to the local  community, campus food services, and donated to the Good Samaritan Food  Pantry.

The workshop will focus on building our high tunnel and in the process  participants will gain valuable knowledge from Mike Bollinger (Four Season  Tools)  on how to build one on their own farm. NRCS  offers funding for high tunnel projects to eligible farmers.
