EPA EPCRA Rule for Livestock Operations
Effective January 20, 2009, livestock operators may be subject to a new reporting requirement regarding emissions estimates. As of January 20, many livestock producers had not heard of the new reporting requirement, nor had the EPA developed workable procedures regarding implementation of the new regulations. Nevertheless, livestock operators face a hefty $25K fine if they fail to participate.
While at the time of this posting it’s too late to submit a report if you are required to do so, you can follow the links below for more information. The National Pork Producers have filed a lawsuit challenging the “unworkable rule” and reporting requirements.
