Touch-A-Fleet of Trucks

The Flora Community Club KICK Team is sponsoring a “Touch-A-Fleet of Trucks” event on Saturday, September 12, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.  This is a family event at the Flora Park, where large equipment owners are invited to bring their equipment so children can see “up close and personal”  There will be parachute jumpers, helicopter demonstration, and food in addition to the exhibits.

If you have equipment to share with the kids, you are invited to bring your equipment for the event. This is a great opportunity to share the Agriculture industry with children, let them see equipment “up close,” and answer questions about your equipment and your farm operation.

ACRE Workshops in Carroll County July 27-30

The Carroll County FSA Office will be hosting a series of workshops the week of July 27-30 regarding the ACRE Program.  The Average Crop Revenue Election (ACRE) Program is a new option for farm program participants.  The deadline for election and enrollment for 2009 is August 14, 2009.  Due to limited space, please call 765-564-2849 for times and availability.  Interested persons may also email jacob.maxwell@in.usda.gov.

The workshops will feature a recording of a presentation of an ACRE Web conference hosted earlier by the National Corn Growers Association.  A link to the Web conference is already available on the CCAA website (see post, below).  “Due to connection speed and required bandwidth, some of our customers may not have the ability to view this form home, states Carroll County CED Jacob Maxwell. “We wanted to be sure to give an opportunity to view this valuable resource for help in making the decision whether to elect ACRE or not.”

A short summary regarding election and enrollment procedures will follow the presentation.

More information is on the attached flyer:  acre-workshop2
